Under the Corporate Transparency Act, registered legal entities like corporations and LLCs must file a Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) report. This includes details on individuals with at least 25% ownership or substantial control. Entities in existence prior to January 1, 2024, have until December 31, 2024, to file. Failure to comply can result in a penalty of $500 per day.
